Ingredients

  • 1 cup - dry brown chick peas
  • 2 pinches - soda bicarb
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam Masala
  • Seasoning (as required):
  • Lemon juice
  • Onion finely chopped
  • Chaat masala
  • Green chilli

How to Make Channa Jor Garam

  • Wash and soak channa overnight in plenty of water and soda.
  • Drain the channa and spread on a thick towel to remove excess water.
  • With a pestle or small grinding stone, flatten each channa with small taps on them.
  • When all of them are flattened, heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Add a handful of the flatten channa and fry till they are whitish and almost crisp.
  • Drain them and put them on a kitchen paper to soak excess oil.
  • Repeat this step for the entire amount of the channa.
  • Transfer the entire to a large plate.
  • Sprinkle salt and garam masala and toss it between fingers to coat it evenly.
  • To serve, take individual helping, add a dash of seasoning ingredients as per taste.
  • Toss and serve with tea, coffee, drinks or just for munching.
