Ingredients

  • 1 small head cauliflower (about 450g), separate into florets
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tbsp snipped fresh parsley (or 1.5 tsp dried parsley flakes)

How to Make Cheesy cauliflower

  • In a casserole, place the cauliflower and water. Cover.
  • Microwave at high for 7 to 8 minutes or until they turn tender, stirring once. Drain.
  • Cover, set aside.
  • Place butter in a 4 to 5 cup measure vessel.
  • Microwave at high for 1 to 2 minutes or until the butter melts.
  • Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Add milk and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Microwave at high for 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring after first 2 minutes and then after each minute.
  • Stir in cheese and parsley.
  • Pour over cauliflower.
