  • Milk - 2 litres
  • Suji - 2 tbsp
  • Maida - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1/2 kg
  • Lime - 1
  • How to Make Chhena Poda (Steamed Cheese cake):

    1. Boil the milk and squeeze lime for the milk to curdle.
    2. When the cottage cheese is ready, drain the water till a little moisture remains
    3. In a tiffin box (aluminium or steel), put 3 tsp of sugar and evenly caramelize the box.
    4. Add sugar, suji and maida to the chhena (cottage cheese) and knead thoroughly.
    5. Put this mixture into the caramelized box.
    6. Put the box in a pressure cooker, place the weight and pressure cook for about 20 mins, 1 pressure on high and then on low flame
    7. Only when completely cool, remove from steam, turn it upside down and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
