  • 1 kg - Chicken with skin
  • 1/4 tsp - Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp - mixed spices (1/2 tsp each of carom seeds, fennel, cumin, mustard and fenugreek)
  • 1/4 tsp - black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp - green Cardamom powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • How to Make Chicken shawarma:

    1. Cut chicken into large pieces; wash and pat dry.
    2. Place cinnamon, nutmeg, green cardamom, mixed spices, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
    3. Add lemon juice and mix well to make thick paste.
    4. Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and rub in the paste thoroughly.
    5. Marinate at room temperature or overnight.
    6. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Grease a baking dish with oil, place chicken pieces with skin side down, and bake for about 20 minutes.
    7. Remove from oven, turn them over and bake for 10-15 more minutes or until the chicken is tender but still moist.
    8. Remove the skin and shred the chicken with a sharp knife.
    9. Put the shredded chicken back in the baking dish.
    10. Bake for 5 more minutes and serve.
