Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1kg
  • Cooking oil as required
  • Big Onions - 3
  • Small Onions - a handful
  • Ginger - big piece, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 4 pods, finely chopped
  • Green chillies - 6 (finely chopped)
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp, heaped
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Coconut Milk as required
  • Potato - 1 medium size
  • Tomatoes - 2 (medium)
  • Coriander and Curry leaves - 1 bunch
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Chicken Stew with Coconut Milk:

    1. First fry ginger and garlic and then big onions and green chillies.
    2. Add coriander, chillies, garam masala, and turmeric powder and fry.
    3. After frying, add one tomato and saute a little.
    4. Then add chicken pieces and stir on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
    5. After that, add a little coconut milk diluted with boiling water and salt.
    6. When it starts boiling, add potato and after 5 minutes, add a tomato and boil.
    7. When the chicken gets cooked, add thick coconut milk and simmer on medium flame.
    8. When a foam forms on the surface, stop fire.
    9. Finally, fry mustard, small onions, coriander, and curry leaves and add to the chicken stew.
