How to Make Chicken Zaibunissa

  • Joint chicken. Peel and boil onions.
  • Drain water and grind to a smooth paste. Roast poppy seeds slightly.
  • Grind poppy seeds, cashewnuts, green chillies, ginger and garlic separately.
  • Heat oil, add onions and fry on slow fire. Add ginger and garlic and fry without discolouring.
  • Add poppy seeds and green chillies. Fry again. Add chicken, fry well.
  • Cover and cook.
  • Add a little water if required. Add curds and cashewnut paste.
  • Fry again till dry.
  • Add a little water to make a gravy.
  • Sprinkle with cardamom powder and mix well. Remove and serve hot.
