Ingredients

  • 1 cup - all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup - cocoa powder
  • 1 cup - castor sugar
  • 1/4 cup - butter
  • 3/4 cup - milk
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp - baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup - chopped walnuts

How to Make Chocolate and Walnut Cake

  • Sieve the flour, baking powder, soda and cocoa together.
  • Mix in the walnuts. Keep aside.
  • Beat the butter with sugar until light.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla essence. Beat for 2 minutes.
  • Add the flour-walnuts mixture, alternating with milk, and mix lightly.
  • Pour onto a greased 8-inch dish and bake in a moderately hot oven for 35 minutes or until done.
