Ingredients

  • 2 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 1/2 cup - shortening
  • 2/3 cup - granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup - milk
  • 1/2 cup - walnuts
  • 2 chocolate squares (bitter)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp - baking powder

How to Make Chocolate Crinkles

  • Cream together shortening, sugar and vanilla essence.
  • Beat in the eggs and melted chocolate.
  • Sieve dry ingredients and blend it in alternately with milk.
  • Add chopped walnuts. Chill in refrigerator for 3 hours
  • Shape into 1" balls. Coat with sugar.
  • Place each ball 2-3" apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake in moderately slow oven at 350 degree F for 15 mins.
  • Cool a little before removing from the pan.
