Ingredients

  • Fish fillet (pomfret or seer) - 1/2 kg
  • Rice (raw) - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger - 20g
  • Garlic - 20g
  • Red chilli powder - 3 tsp
  • Cumin powder (roasted) - 2 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 3 tbsp
  • Green chilli - 2
  • A pinch of chaat masala
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnishing
  • Salt to taste
  • A few drops of orange colour

How to Make Cocktail Fish

  • Soak the rice for an hour, dry on paper, and grind it.
  • Prepare a paste of ginger, garlic, red chilli powder, cumin powder, pepper, green chillies, orange colour, and salt.
  • Add the powdered rice and a little water to this paste and prepare a thick marinade.
  • Cut the fish into pieces. Apply lemon juice and keep aside for half an hour.
  • Then dip the fish pieces into the marinade and keep aside for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces.
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves and Chaat masala.
