Ingredients

  • 200 g - prawns, medium-sized
  • 25 g - mustard seeds, soaked in water
  • Coconut Milk (can be prepared by grinding Coconut and extracting the Milk with the help of a filter/sieve) - 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 - Green chillies
  • How to Make Coconut Chingri Malaikari:

    1. Clean and devein the prawns. Marinate them with turmeric powder and salt for sometime.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns.
    3. Separatelt, grind the soaked mustard seeds in a grinder until smooth.
    4. Cook the mustard paste and coconut milk in oil until they mix well.
    5. Add the fried prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mustard paste mixes well with the prawns.
    6. Add salt to taste and the green chillies.
    7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
