  • 2 cup - rice
  • 1 cup - grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - urad dal powder

How to Make Coconut Seedai

  • Soak the rice in water for about 30 mins.
  • Wash, drain and spread in a towel for 10 mins.
  • Grind rice in a mixer and strain it twice in a sieve and keep aside.
  • The flour should be a little coarse.
  • Roast urad dal and powder it.
  • Mix both the flours and sieve.
  • Add grated coconut and salt and mix well.
  • Now knead a little and make small balls of mixture and keep it aside in a plate.
  • Heat oil in a pan, and deep fry the seedai till it becomes golden colour.
