  • 100 gms - basmati rice
  • 1 litre - milk
  • 6 - cardamoms
  • 400 gms - sweetened condensed milk
  • 170 gms - condensed milk cream
  • 1 tbsp - pistachios, almond, cashew nut paste
  • 3-4 - saffron strands
  • Sugar to taste
  • For garnishing:
  • 4 - almonds, julienned
  • 4 - pistachios, julienned
  • 1 pinch - saffron
  • 4-8 - raisins, optional

How to Make Condensed Milk Firni

  • Soak and wash the rice and drain in a cloth.
  • Blend it to a coarse powder in a blender (the consistency should be like semolina)
  • Boil milk and add the whole cardamoms and allow it to simmer (you may remove the cardamoms after a while)
  • Add the powdered rice and keep boiling, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Add water, if required, and cook till done.
  • Now reduce the heat and add the condensed milk and cream
  • Mix in the pistachios, almonds, cashew paste and saffron, while stirring again.
  • Add sugar and garnish with almonds, pistachios and saffron.
  • Refrigerate for 5-6 hours
  • Remove and serve chilled.
