Ingredients

  • 900 g - fish fillets
  • 3/4th cup - yellow cornmeal (polenta)
  • 1/4 tsp - cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp - Oregano
  • 1/2 cup - oil
  • For Batter:
  • 1/2 cup - plain flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup - Milk
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder or paprika
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tbsp - Sugar
  • 1 Egg

How to Make Country-style Fish

  • In a pan, combine together all ingredients except cornmeal, fish and oil.
  • Spread cornmeal on a waxed paper.
  • Dip the fish in batter, then coat both sides with cornmeal.
  • Fry the fish (in batches) in hot oil over medium heat until golden brown and cooked through.
