Ingredients

  • 3 - blue crabs
  • 3 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 tsp - black Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2.5 tbsp - white Mustard Seeds
  • 3 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Water as required
  • How to Make Crab in mustard and lemon juice gravy:

    1. Cut and wash the crabs thoroughly.
    2. Soak the white mustard seeds in 1/4 cup of water for 15 to 20 minutes.
    3. Blend well to a fine paste.
    4. In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds.
    5. When it splutters, add the slit green chillies and turmeric powder and saute for a minute.
    6. Add 2 cups of water.
    7. When it starts to boil, add the mustard paste, salt and cook for 2 minutes.
    8. Add the crabs, cover and cook on medium heat.
    9. Once the crabs are almost done, add the lemon juice and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes.
    10. Serve hot with rice.
