Ingredients

  • 1 cup - cracked wheat or full samba wheat
  • 3 cups - sugar
  • 5 tsp - ghee
  • 5 - cardamom powder
  • a little saffron, powdered
  • 1-2 pinches - kesar colour

How to Make Cracked Wheat Halwa

  • Soak the wheat for 4 hours.
  • Extract 2.5 cups of wheat milk.
  • Mix the sugar, cardamom powder, kesar colour and saffron to the wheat milk.
  • Cook the mixture in a pressure cooker for three whistles.
  • Heat ghee in a saucepan and cook the wheat mixture for about 5 minutes until the halwa comes together.
