Pan-fried chicken pieces are simmered in a gravy based on onions, tomatoes and sour cream. Chicken Curry with Sour Cream is best served with soft parathas.
Ingredients
- 1 - chicken (cut in big pieces)
- 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
- 1 tsp - red chilli powder
- 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
- 1 - onion (chopped)
- 5-6 - green chillies (cut lengthwise)
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
- For the gravy: 300 g - sour cream
- tomato paste
How to Make Chicken Curry with Sour Cream
- Marinate the chicken in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow-fry the chicken pieces to reddish brown colour.
- Remove the the chicken pieces from the pan and add onions to the remaining oil. Fry for some time, then add the green chillies.
- When the onions turn golden brown, add the sour cream and tomato paste. Mix well.
- Add water to dilute the gravy a bit.
- When the gravy boils, add the chicken pieces. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.
- Serve with paratha.
