Ingredients

  • 1 - chicken (cut in big pieces)
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 - onion (chopped)
  • 5-6 - green chillies (cut lengthwise)
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • For the gravy: 300 g - sour cream
  • tomato paste

How to Make Chicken Curry with Sour Cream

  • Marinate the chicken in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt for 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and shallow-fry the chicken pieces to reddish brown colour.
  • Remove the the chicken pieces from the pan and add onions to the remaining oil. Fry for some time, then add the green chillies.
  • When the onions turn golden brown, add the sour cream and tomato paste. Mix well.
  • Add water to dilute the gravy a bit.
  • When the gravy boils, add the chicken pieces. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.
  • Serve with paratha.
