Ingredients

  • 750 g - fish fillets
  • 3 slices - bread
  • 1.5 cup - Milk
  • 1 tsp - curry powder
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 egg, extra
  • 2 tbsp - milk, extra
  • packaged dry breadcrumbs
  • oil for deep frying
  • pepper
  • flour
  • salt
  • How to Make Crisp Fried Fish Puffs:

    1. Remove skin and bones from fillets, chop fish finely.
    2. Break up bread roughly, cover with milk, let stand 20 minutes.
    3. Combine chopped fish, soaked bread and milk, curry powder, flour, egg, salt and pepper: mix well.
    4. Refrigerate 1 hour.
    5. Form mixture into balls, coat with flour, then combine beaten extra egg and extra milk, then coat well with bread crumbs.
    6. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
    7. Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through.
    8. Makes approximately 35.
    9. Serve hot with curry sauce.
    10. For Curry Sauce:
    11. Melt 30 gm butter in pan, add 1 tablespoon flour and 2 teaspoons curry powder, stir until smooth.
    12. Cook 1 minute, remove pan from heat, add 1 cup milk gradually, and stir until smooth.
    13. Return pan to heat, stir until sauce boils and thickens.
    14. Add 1.5 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, salt and pepper.
