Ingredients

  • 500 g - lady's fingers
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Tomato
  • 1/4 cup - chopped Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup - yogurt
  • 1/4 cup - Chickpea flour
  • 1/4 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/8 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - dry Mango powder
  • A pinch of Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup - oil
  • How to Make Dahi Bhindi with Onion:

    1. Wash lady's fingers and pat them well with a piece of cloth and make round cuts.
    2. Heat a pan and dry-roast chickpea flour and crushed fennel seeds together.
    3. Transfer it to a small ball and cool down to room temperature.
    4. Heat oil in kadai and add cumin seeds and hing.
    5. Once it starts crackling, add ginger garlic paste along with chopped onion and capsicum.
    6. Saute it for a while and add lady's finger into it and cook for 10-12 minutes.
    7. Mix besan, fennel seeds and yogurt in a bowl and whisk to remove all lumps.
    8. Add chopped tomato, yogurt mix and all the spices and mix well.
    9. Cook for 2 minutes more and serve hot.
