Ingredients

  • For the filling:
  • Black gram dal - 1/2 cup
  • Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • For the dough:
  • Whole Wheat flour - 1.5 cup
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - to mix
  • How to Make Dal Stuffed Poories:

    1. For the filling:
    2. Soak the dal in water for 1/2 an hour and drain
    3. In the meantime, prepare the dough, cover and keep aside
    4. Now add coconut, chillies, salt and asafoetida to the dal
    5. Coarse grind in the mixer without adding any water, add curry leaves and divide into 15 portions
    6. Now divide the dough also into 15 portions
    7. Make smooth balls and roll out into small circles
    8. Put a portion of the filling on each
    9. Now roll it up and seal the edges
    10. Roll the stuffed portion into small thick poories
    11. Heat oil and deep fry till golden brown on both sides
    12. Serve hot
