  • 500 gm - Dates
  • 2 tea cups - Red Chillies
  • 1 pod - Garlic (paste)
  • 1/2 pod - Ginger (paste)
  • Salt
  • 5 tsp - Oil
  • How to Make Dates Pickle:

    1. Soak the dates in enough water to cover it. Refrigerate it for one week.
    2. After 7 days the dates will be very soft and the seeds can be removed easily. Then strain it
    3. Grind the red chillies into powder.
    4. In a pan heat the oil (5 tsp).
    5. Add the garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, and salt.
    6. Then add the dates paste, and allow to cook for 15 minutes.
    7. Remove, and cool.
    8. The pickle goes well with Puris, Dosas, Chapattis, etc.
