Ingredients

  • 1 Spinach bunch, cleaned and chopped finely
  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp dhania-jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1.5 tsp ajwain
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • some sour yogurt to mix the dough
  • salt to taste
  • Ghee to roast the debru
  • How to Make Debru:

    1. Add the chopped spinach to a bowl and add the flour, turmeric, chilli powder, dhania-jeera, sugar, ajwain, salt and mix well.
    2. Add the oil and mix well.
    3. Add the yogurt.
    4. Now, knead it into a dough.
    5. Leave the dough in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. (Alternately, you can immediately start cooking the theplas).
    6. Roll out the debru-like chapatti and cook them in a pan by cooking first on one side.
    7. Turn it over and add ghee.
    8. Turn to the other side and add some ghee again.
    9. It should be cooked well on both sides.
