  • 1/2 kg - chicken
  • 2 tbsp - soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp - green chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp - corn flour
  • 5 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1/2 inch - ginger, finely chopped
  • 8-10 - garlic pods, finely chopped
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup - spring onions (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 1 - onion (finely chopped)
  • refined oil
  • salt to taste

How to Make Deep Fried Chilli Chicken

  • Mix soy sauce and chilli sauce with chicken and marinate for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • In a bowl, break the eggs and beat well with a pinch of salt and corn flour.
  • Squeeze the chicken pieces well (save some marinade for later) and place them in a plate.
  • Heat some oil in a kadai. Dip the squeezed chicken pieces one by one in the egg mixture and put them in the oil.
  • Fry a maximum of 4 to 5 pieces at a time. Turn the pieces and fry well till cooked on all sides.
  • When done, in the remaining oil, add ginger, garlic, onion, spring onions, green chillies and capsicum; fry well till cooked.
  • Add the leftover soy and chilli sauce marinade.
  • Then return the chicken pieces to the pan and cook on low heat.
  • Cook until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Serve hot with rice.
