Ingredients

  • 1 liter - whole milk
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 5 to 6 - green cardamom (powdered)
  • 2 to 3 tsp - ghee

How to Make Doodh peda

  • In a heavy bottomed vessel, on a medium flame heat the milk till boiling point.
  • Stir continuously till it forms into khoya.
  • Add the sugar, and mix well.
  • Lower the flame otherwise it tends to char.
  • Cook till the mixture leaves the sides of the vessel.
  • Take a plate test by dropping a small piece of the mixture on the plate and check if you can roll into a peda when cool.
  • Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Grease a thali. Make small peda like balls and flatten them.
  • Keep them on the thali. Cool completely.
  • Store in a steel airtight container.
