Ingredients

  • 2 - green chillies, sliced
  • 4 - dry red chillies, sliced
  • 1 - Coconut
  • 3 tbsp - cooking oil
  • 100 g - dried Prawns
  • 1 - ginger, sliced
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 - medium-sized onions, sliced
  • salt to taste
  • a little Tamarind
  • a little Turmeric powder

How to Make Dried Prawn Chutney

  • Clean and wash the dried prawns.
  • Grind the masala. Remember to remove the fibres and seeds from the tamarind.
  • Fry the sliced masala of green chillies, ginger and 1 onion in cooking oil.
  • Add the prawns and fry.
  • Stir continuously until brown.
  • Add the ground masala and its water and the other ingredients. Cook for some time. Add salt to taste.
  • Cook until the onions are soft, stirring frequently.
  • When done, add the scraped coconut.
  • Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
