Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Dates
  • 2 tsp. pure Ghee plus for greasing
  • 15 nos Almonds
  • 10 nos Pistachios
  • 10 nos cashews
  • 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed

How to Make DRY FRUIT MODAK

  • Dry roast the nuts until golden, cool down and transfer to a mixer jar. Grind it to a slightly coarse mixture. Set aside.
  • Now add dates to the mixer jar. Add little water and blend to form a paste consistency.
  • Add the date paste and nuts mixture to a mixing bowl. Mix well, add ghee, mix it well and set aside.
  • Add salt to rice flour and mix. Boil water until it bubbles up, add it to rice flour.
  • Mix with a ladle, once it starts to come together. Set aside for few mins until it has cooled down.Now bring everything together to form a smooth dough.
  • Grease the modak mould well with ghee. Take a lemon sized dough and roll into a ball. Close the mould and take a dough shape it as a ball and stuff it from the bottom side.
  • Open the mould and carefully remove it. Likewise shape all the modaks with the stuffing. Steam cook for 10mins or until it comes out clean.
  • Switch off and remove the modaks and transfer to a serving bowl.
