How to Make Easter Currant Loaf

  • Heat milk and mix the sugar in it.
  • Now dissolve the yeast in one cup of warm water.
  • Sift the flour and salt together.
  • Now combine all the ingredients together and knead well.
  • Cover with a towel and set aside to rise for 2 hours.
  • Form into the shape of loaves and place in greased and floured cake tins.
  • Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle icing sugar liberally on top.
  • Bake in a moderate oven until golden brown.
  • Remove from the tins when cold.
