  • Fresh Palak - 1 bunch
  • 2 - medium sized Potatoes
  • 3 to 4 pods - Garlic
  • A small piece of Ginger
  • 2 - large Onions
  • 2 to 3 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - coriander Cumin seed powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala or curry powder
  • How to Make Easy Aloo Palak:

    1. Wash and boil palak with the garlic pods, ginger and chopped onions (chop the onions into quarters) and green chillies.
    2. After it is cooked, allow it to cool and remove from the vessel.
    3. Run it in the mixer for just few seconds and keep the paste aside. Do not add water unless necessary.
    4. Cut potatoes into cubes and boil it in a vessel.
    5. Add salt and turmeric powder to potatoes.
    6. Once potatoes are cooked, drain the water and keep aside.
    7. Take a little ghee in a pan and add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
    8. Once it splutters, add the palak and onion paste. Let it boil for few minutes.
    9. Now, add the boiled potatoes, a little garam masala or curry powder, coriander cumin seed powder and also some water if needed.
    10. Let it boil for a few minutes more till the potatoes absorb the flavour.
    11. Season with fresh cream if you like.
    12. Serve hot with hot phulkas, rice or pulao.
