  • 2 - bitter gourds
  • 1 - big onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tsp - sesame powder (til) (roasted)
  • Ginger-garlic paste
  • Oil
  • 5 - green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard seeds
  • cumin
  • 2 tsp - jaggery or sugar

How to Make Easy Bitter Gourd Curry

  • Cut the bitter gourd into long thin pieces, apply salt and keep aside for half an hour.
  • Drain out excess water from the bitter gourd.
  • Put oil in the pan, temper with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, then add bitter gourd pieces and fry.
  • Add onion, salt, jaggery to it.
  • Close with the lid and cook till the onions and the bitter gourd is soft. Now add sesame powder to it, leave it for a minute, remove from fire.
