  • 1 cup - Onions
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 1 - French loaf
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 litre - Chicken stock
  • 1 cup - grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Easy French Onion Soup

  • Finely chop onions. Heat butter and cook the onions till sift and golden brown.
  • Add the flour and stir.
  • Then slowly add the stock. Simmer for 30 mins.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Slice the bread, sprinkle with cheese and grill it till cheese melts and bread turns crisp.
  • Pour hot soup into cups, float the cheesy bread on top.
