1 cup - besan/gram flour
1 cup -
1/2 cup - ghee, vegetable oil
How to Make Easy Okkarai
Heat 3 to 4 tablespoon of the ghee and vegetable oil in a kadai.
Roast the besan on a low flame till it gets slightly reddish. Keep aside.
Now prepare the jaggery syrup by dissolving the jaggery in one and half cups of water.
Add this syrup to the besan.
Mix thoroughly so that no lumps are formed.
Now transfer this mixture into a kadai.
Lower the flame and keep stirring. Add oil and ghee from time to time.
When the mixture hardens and leaves the sides of the pan, switch off the stove (there should be no moisture) and serve.
