Ingredients

  • 2 cup - brown Chana (kadalai)
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 - red chillies, broken into pieces
  • few Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - Asafoetida
  • 2 - green chillies, slit
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • Salt, to taste
  • How to Make Easy Sundal:

    1. Soak channa overnight in water. Drain, add fresh water and cook till soft but not mushy.
    2. Drain away the excess water, retaining about 3-4 tbsps.
    3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard.
    4. When it splutters, add red chilli, curry leaves and asafoetida.
    5. Add channa, green chillies and salt. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
    6. Add grated coconut, mix well and remove from fire.
