How to Make Easy Tamarind Rice

  • First, cook the rice with turmeric, salt and one tbsp oil.
  • Soak the tamarind for 1/2 an hour and grind it into a paste.
  • Take a pan and heat the oil.
  • To the oil, add dry red chillies, mustard seeds, Bengal gram dal, black gram dal, turmeric and asafoetida.
  • When the mustard seeds crackle, add the tamarind paste to this mix.
  • Fry it for 2 minutes.
  • When it turns dry, switch off the flame and add it to the rice.
  • Stir well and serve it hot.
