Ingredients

  • Besan flour - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 1.5 cups
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Elaichi powder - 1 tsp

How to Make Festive Besan Mysore Pak

  • Fry the besan flour in some ghee until it turns golden.
  • In another bowl, put the sugar and water to boil.
  • When the sugar syrup reaches one string consistency, put it to simmer, add the fried besan flour and stir.
  • Add the remaining ghee bit by bit and keep stirring.
  • Wait for the mixture to start leaving the sides of the bowl.
  • When it does, take a little portion of the mixture in your hand and press, it should become like cake.
  • Remove the mixture from the flame immediately and pour on a greased plate.
  • Flatten the mixture quickly.
  • Use a greased knife to cut the mixture into pieces before it cools down.
  • The pieces will become hard soon.
  • Garnish with elaichi powder.
