Ingredients

  • 6 - medium mackerel
  • 1 cup - freshly grated Coconut
  • 3 tsp - chilli powder
  • 3 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1 tsp - Peanut oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 pieces - sour cocum
  • 1 tbsp - freshly copped coriander
  • How to Make Fish Coconut Curry:

    1. Marinate fish after rubbing with salt for about 45 mins
    2. For curry: Take the freshly grated coconut, add red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric, and grind it to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
    3. Wash the salted fish thoroughly
    4. In a pot, heat 1 tsp of peanut oil, add garlic. Once it is brown, add curry paste with 3 cups of water
    5. Add all the pieces of fish to it, add 8 pieces of cocum and 2 tsp of salt
    6. Cook the curry for about 20 mins on a medium to high flame
    7. Add freshly chopped coriander before serving
    8. Serve it in a bowl with curry and couple of pieces of fish, garnish with fresh leaves of coriander along with hot basmati rice
