Ingredients

  • 6 - medium mackerel
  • 1 cup - freshly grated coconut
  • 3 tsp - chilli powder
  • 3 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric
  • 2 cloves - garlic
  • 1 tsp - peanut oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 pieces - sour cocum
  • 1 tbsp - freshly copped coriander

How to Make Fish Coconut Curry

  • Marinate fish after rubbing with salt for about 45 mins
  • For curry: Take the freshly grated coconut, add red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric, and grind it to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
  • Wash the salted fish thoroughly
  • In a pot, heat 1 tsp of peanut oil, add garlic. Once it is brown, add curry paste with 3 cups of water
  • Add all the pieces of fish to it, add 8 pieces of cocum and 2 tsp of salt
  • Cook the curry for about 20 mins on a medium to high flame
  • Add freshly chopped coriander before serving
  • Serve it in a bowl with curry and couple of pieces of fish, garnish with fresh leaves of coriander along with hot basmati rice
