Ingredients

  • 500 g - fish (boneless)
  • 1 - onion, chopped finely
  • 1 - tomato, chopped finely
  • 1 inch - Ginger
  • 4 - Garlic flakes
  • 5 - green chillies, chopped finely
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 2 cups - Fenugreek leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds powder
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • Pinch of Hing
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 cup - water
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • How to Make Fish Methi:

    1. Clean the fish and cut into small pieces (approximately 1 inch).
    2. Marinate the fish pieces with lemon juice, salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside for an hour.
    3. Wash and chop the fenugreek leaves finely.
    4. Make a paste of ginger-garlic.
    5. Heat oil in a pan and add a pinch of hing.
    6. Add ginger-garlic paste and chillies and simmer for a minute.
    7. Add onion and fry till transparent.
    8. Add tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes.
    9. Add fenugreek leaves and stir.
    10. Add garam masala, cumin seeds powder and coriander powder.
    11. Add 1 cup of water and let it cook for 5 minutes.
    12. Add fish pieces and salt as per taste.
    13. Cook untill fish is tender.
    14. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    15. Serve hot with rice.
