  • White flaky fish - 750 gm
  • Mustard Seeds - 2 tsp
  • Garlic - 6 flakes
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Lime juice - 2 tbsp
  • Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Fish Roasted in Banana Leaves:

    1. Cut the fish and clean it and make deep cuts all over the body.
    2. Grind mustard, garlic, coriander leaves, chilli and turmeric powder to a stiff paste.
    3. Mix the paste with lime juice, mustard oil and salt.
    4. Smear this mixture all over the fish, pushing it well into the cuts.
    5. Leave aside for an hour.
    6. Make neat parcels of the fish, wrapping them in banana leaves. (aluminium foil may be used).
    7. Roast the fish on charcoal grill or bake in an oven till done.
    8. Serve hot.
