How to Make Fish Roasted in Banana Leaves

  • Cut the fish and clean it and make deep cuts all over the body.
  • Grind mustard, garlic, coriander leaves, chilli and turmeric powder to a stiff paste.
  • Mix the paste with lime juice, mustard oil and salt.
  • Smear this mixture all over the fish, pushing it well into the cuts.
  • Leave aside for an hour.
  • Make neat parcels of the fish, wrapping them in banana leaves. (aluminium foil may be used).
  • Roast the fish on charcoal grill or bake in an oven till done.
  • Serve hot.
