Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Channa dal
  • 1 cup - Urad Dal
  • 1 cup - Moong dal
  • 4-5 - Green chillies
  • A little Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • A pinch Sugar
  • Dash of Lime juice
  • How to Make Fresh Dhokla:

    1. Wash and soak all three dals for at least 4 hours.
    2. Grind the dals, green chillies and ginger to a smooth paste. Mix salt.
    3. Allow it to ferment in a warm place for at least 6-8 hours.
    4. Grease and steam the batter for 15 minutes.
    5. Heat a little oil and add mustard seeds. When it crackles, put a little sugar and a little lemon juice.
    6. Serve hot with a chutney of your choice.
