Ingredients

  • Crab - One pack or 2 lbs, cut and clean
  • Onion - 1 large, chopped
  • Ginger & Garlic Paste - 3 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cloves - 3
  • Red Chilli powder - 3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 4 tbsp (or as required)
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt - as required
  • Coriander leaves - a few
  • How to Make Fried Crab Masala:

    1. First cut and clean (cut off the crab nails) the crab with water, just rinse it. Spread some salt, red chilli powder (2 tsp), turmeric powder (1/2 tsp), ginger-garlic paste (1 tsp) and keep it aside for 15 mins.
    2. Take a deep pan and heat oil in it, once it's hot add the chopped onions, fennel seeds, cloves and fry well in a medium heat.
    3. The onion should be fried well till it turns to brown in colour.
    4. Now add ginger and garlic paste to it and fry for another 3 mins, till you get the smell of ginger and garlic.
    5. Now add red chilli powder to this and fry for a min.
    6. If you want it hot add some tsp of red chilli powder, generally for crab dish mild hot will do good.
    7. Now add the crab to this above mixture and fry for 5 mins in a medium flame.
    8. Add the garam masala too.
    9. Pour 4 glasses of water into it, taste a little bit and add salt as required to your taste and cover the pan with the lid.
    10. Wait till it turns to thick gravy, that is crab should be well coated with the gravy.
    11. Garnish the crab fry with chopped coriander.
    12. Now your crab fry is ready.
    13. Crab fry goes well with white rice, biryani, pulav, lemon rice, coconut rice.
