1/2 kg - mussels
3 tsp - red chilli powder
1/2 tsp - crushed pepper powder
1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
1 lime juice
Salt to taste
Oil - 4 tbsp
How to Make Fried Mussels
Remove the mussels from the shell.
Clean the inside part of the mussel to remove dirt.
Cut and remove the black part in the bottom of the mussel.
Clean well and set aside.
Mix red chilli powder, turmeric powder, crushed pepper powder, salt and lime juice/ little water.
Marinate mussels with this mixture for 10-15 minutes.
Heat about 1/2 cup of oil in a kadai.
When the oil is hot, add one or two marinated mussels at a time and fry on both side, till they are fried and fully cooked.
Take out of the oil and drain.
Fry rest of the marinated mussels in the same way.
Serve as a starter or side dish with rice, rasam, sambar .
