Ingredients

  • 2 cups - water
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - oats
  • 1 cup - chopped peeled pears or chopped apple
  • 1/4 cup - dried cherries, raisins, or snipped dates
  • 1/8 tsp - ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup - skim milk

How to Make Fruity Oatmeal

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in oats, peaches or apples, raisins, and cinnamon.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat. Cover and let it stand for 2 minutes.
  • Divide the oatmeal into 4 bowls.
  • Pour 2 tbsp milk over each serving.
