Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp - poppy seeds(Khus khus/Gasagase)
  • 1 tbsp - rice
  • 2 cups - milk
  • 2 cups - water
  • 2 cups - mashed jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp - crushed almonds
  • 1 tbsp - crushed pistachios

How to Make Gasagase Kheer(Khus Khus)

  • Soak poppy seeds and rice for 3-4 hours.
  • Grind them in to fine paste.
  • Bring water to a boil.
  • Add mashed jaggery and as it melts, stir continuously.
  • Add the paste and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Add milk and cardamom powder.
  • Let it boil for 3-4 minutes.
  • Garnish with nuts.
  • Serve hot.
