Ingredients

  • 150 g - gavar (cluster beans)
  • 50 g - oil
  • 20 g - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 50 g - besan (gram flour)
  • 25 g - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 10 g - ajwain
  • 10 g - garlic, chopped
  • salt to taste

How to Make Gavar Dhokli

  • Clean, string and cut each bean into 3 pieces.
  • Steam till tender.
  • Mix gram flour, salt and 5 gm green chillies.
  • Knead with water to stiff dough.
  • Make coin-sized, flat roundels.
  • Heat oil in hot pan.
  • Add garlic, green chillies and beans.
  • Sprinkle ajwain and salt.
  • Fry dhoklis for 5 minutes.
  • Add water as required to form thick, saucy gravy.
  • Serve hot, garnished with coriander.
