  • 300 gm - ripe pumpkin
  • 10 slices - bread
  • 1/2 cup - milk
  • 1/2 cup - butter
  • 1/2 cup - powdered sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 5 tbsp - orange marmalade, beaten till smooth
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - dry ginger powder.

How to Make Golden Pumpkin Pudding

  • Peel the pumpkin and grate finely.
  • Break the bread into tiny pieces.
  • Beat butter and sugar together till light.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add bread, pumpkin, milk, marmalade, baking powder and ginger powder.
  • Pour in a pudding mould. (Leave enough space for pudding to rise.)
  • Cover with two layers of aluminium foil and seal well.
  • Place in a steamer and steam for one hour.
  • Cool slightly and turn out on a serving plate.
  • Serve warm with orange flavoured custard sauce.
