Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Toor Dal
  • 1.5 tsp - Tamarind paste
  • chopped Coriander leaves
  • 3 tsp - Sambar powder
  • 1 cup - vegetables (cucumber, squash, brinjal, onion)
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Grind to a paste: 1/2 cup Coconut
  • 3-4 Red Chillies
  • Garlic
  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • A pinch Hing
  • How to Make Grand Sambar:

    1. Cook the toor dal first.
    2. Then add the ground paste, 1.5 tsp tamarind paste, chopped coriander leaves & 3 tsp sambar powder.
    3. Add the cut vegetables & let them cook.
    4. Allow it to boil on a medium flame for 20 minutes.
    5. Season with curry leaves, hing, mustard seeds & jeera.
