Green peas soup is a healthy and wholesome soup best relished during the monsoons. The rainy weather craves us more for comfort foods and this vegetarian soup is just perfect to be enjoyed in this weather.

Know how to make this comfort delight, green peas soup at home with our step by step recipe guide. The main ingredient of the soup is green peas. The recipe is made using pressure cooker as one dish.
The peas along with celery and green chilies are pressure cooked and smoothened into puree. The mix is then stir fried with butter to give it thick soupy consistency. It is best served with celery sticks in the rainy weather to keep you warm.


  • 150 gms - Peas
  • 50 gms - Onion
  • 20 gms - Celery
  • 10 gms - Green chilli
  • 100 ml - Milk
  • 2 tsp - Butter
  • 1 tbsp - Flour
  • 4 cups - Water
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 1/2 tsp - Pepper powder
  • How to Make Green Peas Soup:

    1. Set a deep pressure pan on the stove at high.
    2. Once hot, lower the heat to medium.
    3. Put 1 tsp. of butter into the pan, add the onions.
    4. Fry the onions until glazed.
    5. Add the peas, celery, green chillies and saute.
    6. Add the water and allow three whistles.
    7. Puree the ingredients in a food processor.
    8. Take another deep vessel. Set the heat on high and lower to medium.
    9. Add 1 tsp. of butter.
    10. Add the flour, roast it stirring continuously.
    11. Add the milk and make a smooth sauce. Add the pureed ingredients into the sauce and stir well. Add the salt and pepper.
    12. This soup can be garnished with a sprig of celery, or even served with celery sticks.
