Ingredients

  • Spinach (washed, blanched and pureed) - 1 cup
  • Green peas (boiled and pureed) - 1 cup
  • Gram flour - 2 cups
  • Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Ginger- garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli paste - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Dry mango powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp

How to Make Green Rounds

  • Mix all ingredients except oil in a large bowl and knead a dough as for chapati, using water if needed.
  • Make balls to the size of a large lemon and roll each ball to resemble a sausage.
  • Grease a plate with oil and arrange the rolls side by side.
  • Steam the rolls in pressure cooker for 20 minutes. Remove from cooker and cool for 5 minutes.
  • Cut each roll with a sharp knife into 1/2 inch rounds. Fry them till light brown in hot oil.
  • To serve, arrange on a bed of lettuce and serve with mint and coconut chutney.
