  • For stuffing:
  • 1 - Carrot, grated
  • 1 - Spring onion with greens, finely chopped
  • 1 - Parboiled potato, grated
  • 1/2 cup - Cabbage finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup - Milk
  • 2 tbsp- Plain flour
  • 1 tbsp- Butter
  • 2 tbsp- Grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Other ingredients:
  • 6- Medium, round, plain buns
  • 2 tbsp - Grated cheese
  • 2 tbsp- Salad leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Butter .
  • How to Make Grilled Open Buns:

    1. Horizontally cut the top 2 inch of the buns.
    2. Cut these round shapes into half rounds. Butter and keep aside.
    3. Now scrape out the inside of the buns. Keep the sides intact.
    4. Brush them with butter and keep aside.
    5. For the stuffing:
    6. Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add all the veggies and saute for 2 mins.
    7. Add milk, salt, pepper and bring to boil.
    8. Mix the flour in 1/4 cup water, and add it to the mixture.
    9. Keep stirring until it starts boiling . Now add the bun scrapings and cheese to it.
    10. Cook until the mixture thickens.
    11. Let it cool.
    12. Fill each lower half with this mixture.
    13. Heat a griddle or tawa and cook the buns, filling side down, until the crust of the filling turns golden. Set aside.
    14. Now cook the top half rounds until the flat sides are golden.
    15. Now place the bottom bun on individual plates.
    16. Sprinkle some cheese and salad leaves on top.
    17. Take two half rounds, press the straight edges down in the middle of bun.
    18. Serve hot with ketchup.
