Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup - Fenugreek leaves
  • 5-6 - Mint leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - chopped Green chillies
  • 1 tbsp - yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp - roasted Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil as required
  • How to Make Gujarati Thepla:

    1. Mix wheat flour, cumin seeds, sugar, turmeric powder and salt together in a bowl.
    2. Roughly chop fenugreek and mint leaves and add them into the bowl along with chopped green chillies.
    3. Pour around 2 tsp of oil into it and mix everything well.
    4. Knead a soft dough using lukewarm water and cover it with a damp cloth and keep it aside for some time.
    5. Make lemon-sized balls out of the dough and roll them to around 7-8 inch diameter disc.
    6. In a griddle cook it for nearly 30-40 sec and flip it.
    7. Apply a little oil on partially-cooked surface and flip it again.
    8. Repeat the same process again and cook on both the sides .
