Rose-petal jam, commonly known as Gulkand, is one of the healthiest and most delicious Ayurvedic preparations. Meaning ‘sweet flower’ in Arabic, Gulkand keeps the body cool, improves eyesight and memory, improves the skin quality and helps digestion. Foxtail millet is also very nutritious, helping the heart function, enhancing memory and battling Alzheimer’s, and is a great antioxidant. So, a Gulkand and foxtail millet shake is doubly rich on nutrients, working great as a breakfast item.
To prepare this shake, blend the following ingredients into a smooth paste together – 1 tbsp Gulkand, 2 tbsp of cooked foxtail millet, honey or sugar as per taste, a few drops of rose syrup and milk.
If you want to make the shake thicker, you could add a little more milk. Drink delicious!
