Ingredients

  • 1 bunch - collard greens
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - Hing
  • 1-2 - Green chillies
  • 1/4 tsp - Ver (optional)

How to Make Haakh (Kashmiri dishes)

  • Wash, clean and cut the greens into pieces.
  • In the meantime, boil 2-3 cups of water in a pressure cooker.
  • Add salt and hing to the boiling water.
  • Add the collard greens slowly, stirring at the same time.
  • When you see it boiling again, close the lid and pressure cook it till you hear 3-4 whistles (10 mins minimum).
  • Remove the lid right away by putting the cooker under running water. Then open the lid and put the cooker back on the flame. Let it come to a boil again.
  • Add the green chillies to it.
  • Transfer it to a bowl. Sprinkle the ver on it and serve with rice.
